On April 25-26, 2025, the 2nd International Olympiad of Medical Students "Urgench-2030" was held at the Urgench branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy (Republic of Uzbekistan). The event brought together more than 150 students from different countries who demonstrated a high level of training, theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of medicine.
The Olympiad included three stages:
• presentation of participating universities in video format;
• oral survey on the chosen discipline;
• demonstration of practical skills in the field of training.
Students competed in such disciplines as human anatomy, pediatrics, infectious diseases, surgical diseases, microbiology, internal medicine, traditional medicine and biochemistry, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedic, therapeutic and surgical dentistry, skin and venereal diseases, pathological physiology.
The goal of the Olympiad is to develop students' interest in various areas of medicine, improve professional knowledge and skills, as well as popularize the scientific approach and creative thinking in medical education.
We are proud to announce that 4th-year student of group B-PO-03-21 of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy (Shymkent, Republic of Kazakhstan) Diana Meirbekovna Baidullaeva entered the top 10 best participants of the Olympiad. She was awarded a diploma and an award for outstanding knowledge in the field of infectious diseases.
The scientific supervisor and mentor of D. M. Baidullaeva is the acting associate professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenereology, PhD Zhuzzhasarova A. A.
“The Urgench-2030 Olympiad became for me not only a test of knowledge, but also an inspiring experience of communication with future colleagues from different countries. I am grateful to the Academy and my teachers for their support and the opportunity to prove myself in the international arena,” Diana shared her impressions.
