On November 5, 2025, a cognitive and psychological event titled “Prevention of Ludomania: A Step Toward a Conscious Life” was held for groups VM-SQQB-03-25AB and VM-SQQB-04-25AB, organized by the Psychological Service.
Nowadays, addiction to and fascination with gambling among young people has become one of the pressing issues in society. Ludomania (gambling addiction) is a dangerous psychological disorder in which a person becomes dependent on gambling, gradually losing connection with real life, as well as their time, finances, and social relationships.
The main purpose of the event was to increase students’ psychological awareness, explain the psychological and social consequences of gambling, and demonstrate ways to prevent addiction.
During the event, participants were informed about the signs, causes, and psychological impact of ludomania. Using specially prepared video materials and informational booklets, the influence of gambling on the human psyche was thoroughly discussed. In addition, students received practical recommendations on developing a conscious lifestyle, managing emotions, and using time effectively.
Based on the results of the “TAKER” test, specialists from the Psychological Service provided group psychological counseling to students and offered recommendations for addiction prevention.
At the end of the event, students shared their thoughts and emphasized the importance of preventing gambling addiction and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
