As part of the external academic mobility program, from April 29 to May 13, 2025, the heads of the departments: "Microbiology, Immunology and Allergology" MD, Professor Seytkhanova Bibigul Tolegenovna, "Emergency Medicine and Nursing", Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Seidakhmetova Aizat Ashimkhanovna took part in an international internship at one of the leading universities in Turkey, the Medical University of Sciences. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen academic cooperation, exchange experience in the field of medical education, and develop competencies in the field of modern educational and clinical technologies.
The University of Health Sciences was founded in 1903 in Istanbul and has a history of more than 120 years. It is the first thematic state university of health sciences in Turkey, which has official permission to establish schools and institutes abroad. Along with civilian and non-civilian students, the University of Health Sciences also accepts military students studying under the instructions of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Interior, and military foreign students. The Faculty of Medicine is the best in the medical community with the most qualified and experienced doctors educated in both basic medical sciences and clinical areas. The curriculum allows students to develop professional and clinical skills, provides students with a medical education focused on developing research and analytical abilities, committed to ethical principles.
During the academic mobility, Seitkhanova Bibigul Tolegenovna, Seidakhmetova Aizat Ashimkhanovna got acquainted with the system of higher medical education in Turkey, took part in educational and methodological sessions, held joint classes and discussions with colleagues from the Turkish university. Particular attention was paid to the issues of introducing digital technologies into education, digital platforms and electronic resources, interdisciplinary modules and integrating science into the educational process. The university held meetings with the rector, vice-rectors, deans of faculties, and the chief physician of the clinic to discuss plans within the framework of the concluded memorandum between the universities.
The university clinic organized an exchange of experience on issues of clinical training of students, assessment of competencies and feedback methods. It is necessary to note the high level of organization of the educational process, the practice-oriented approach and the interest of Turkish colleagues in the development of international cooperation.
At the SBÜ Şişli Istanbul Clinic, Head of the Clinical Microbiology Department, Professor Dr. Elif Aktaş Sepetci introduced the staff and the work of the laboratory. During the mobility, a zoom meeting was organized with colleagues from other universities on international cooperation, round tables, seminars on current topics in microbiology, immunology, and therapy. Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Ilyas Dokmetaş introduced the work of the clinic, inpatient department, infectious diseases department, nephrology, cardiology, and rheumatology departments. In addition, during the visit, the prospects for joint educational and scientific projects, student and teacher exchange, online courses and international conferences were discussed. Following the mobility, the participants noted the high level of professional training of Turkish colleagues, modern infrastructure, and readiness for active international cooperation. As a result of the discussions, plans were formed to conduct joint research and organize interuniversity scientific events. At the end of the visit, Vice-Rector, Professor, Dr. Murat ELEVLİ presented certificates and thanked for the interest shown and the joint work carried out. Following the academic mobility, agreements were reached on further cooperation, including the implementation of joint educational projects, scientific research and the exchange of students and teachers.
