The 4th-year students of the Pharmacy program of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy completed their industrial practice on “Quality Control and Standardization of Medicines” at the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev from 02.06.2025 to 13.06.2025. Upon arrival, a meeting was held with the rector of the KSMA named after I.K. Akhunbaev I. Kudaibergenova, head of the international relations department T. Yusupova, specialist of the practice department Zh. Madalbekova, head of the department A. Muratalieva and teachers of the department of “Pharmacognosy and Chemistry of Medicines”.
Our students' industrial practice took place at the Central Control and Analytical Laboratory (CCAL) of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The head of the CCAL, S. Kadyralieva, introduced the students to the quality control and standardization system of medicines in the Kyrgyz Republic, the organization and equipment of the workplaces of a pharmacist-analyst and laboratory staff.
Deputy Head of Quality of the Central Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Research, Akynbekova A., was appointed as the head of the practice from the Central Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Research, and she introduced the professional tasks of a pharmacist-analyst, safety precautions in the laboratory, and the requirements of regulatory documents on quality control and safety of medicines. Using modern high-tech equipment, the interns performed physical, chemical, and physicochemical analysis of medicines in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents of the Eurasian Economic Union.
During the internship, the students consolidated their skills and practical abilities in conducting pharmaceutical analysis in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents: chemical and physicochemical methods of identification, purity analysis, and quantitative determination; development of regulatory documents, issues of drug examination during registration.
The interns fully completed the industrial practice program. They followed the internal work regulations in force at the enterprise, observed labor protection standards and fire safety rules, filled out diaries on industrial practice during the internship and compiled reports on the results of the internship. As a result, the internship allowed the students to consolidate their general and professional competencies in the field of quality control of medicinal products.
The students visited the KSMA History Museum and the Plastination Museum. The cultural program was interesting, as part of which the interns visited the Rukh Ordo cultural center named after Ch. Aitmatov, got acquainted with local attractions, visited the city's historical museums and others.
The staff of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry and students express their deep gratitude to the management of our Academy for the opportunity to undergo industrial practice at a foreign base. We also express our sincere gratitude to the host party: Rector I. Kudaibergenova, Head of the Department A. Muratalieva and Head of the Central Scientific and Atomic Laboratory of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic S. Kadyralieva for the opportunity provided and to the heads of the practice base for the clear organization and rich program of industrial practice.
