Priority Directions Of Pharmaceutical And Chemical-Toxicological Research

The Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry actively participated in the 3rd Forum of Young Scientists and Students, which included the 12th International Conference of Young Scientists and Students "Prospects for the Development of Biology, Medicine, and Pharmaceutics."
The plenary session featured presentations by leading scientists from our partner universities. Professor Gurupadhyay from the JSS College of Pharmacy (Mysuru, India) discussed the study of the neuroinflammatory-oxidative cascade in Alzheimer's disease in his presentation.
This year, the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy is actively implementing a memorandum of understanding with the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (Ooty, India) on the exchange of research expertise. Students of Dr. R. Shanmungam, coordinator and head of the TIFAC CORE Center for Herbal Medicines at the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (Ooty, India), presented over 20 papers on strategies for the development and standardization of herbal medicines.
Equally interesting were the presentations at the department's breakout session on "Priority Areas of Pharmaceutical and Chemical-Toxicological Research." The session, held in a hybrid format, brought together participants and attendees from Russia, Uzbekistan, India, and universities in the Republic of Kazakhstan. These included undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students from the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (Moscow, Russia), the Academy of Higher Education and Research (Ooty, India), the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, and the Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), among others.

The breakout session featured presentations on quality control and standardization of active pharmaceutical ingredients and medicinal products of natural and synthetic origin, chemical-toxicological studies, pharmaceutical ecology, the rationale for the design of new medicinal products, the selection of internal standards for HPLC/MS/MS, and more.
Members of the "Scientist" student research group from the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry also presented their papers, sharing their work with the audience.
During the session, moderators assessed the relevance, novelty, creativity, practical significance, and presentation skills of the presentations.

During an objective evaluation and discussion of the research papers by young scientists and students, the following were recognized:
1. Ilya Alekseevich Voroshilov - I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University
2. Sagarika Mukherjee - TIFAC CORE in Herbal Drugs, (Ooty, India)
3. Edie Ruslanovna Memetova - Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)
Following the sectional session, moderator Professor S.K. Ordabayeva expressed her sincere gratitude to all conference participants for their expertise and engaging presentation of materials, which kept the audience engaged throughout, making the conference unforgettable.

Thus, the 3rd Forum of Young Scientists and Students enabled scientific subdisciplines to create and maintain a common scientific culture, as well as to engage new members in this culture, thereby contributing to its further strengthening in the long term.
