"DOCTORS OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR: HEROISM AND LEGACY" Scientific and Practical Conference

On May 5, 2025, a scientific-practical conference titled "Doctors of the Great Patriotic War: Courage and Legacy" was held at the JSC "South Kazakhstan Medical Academy," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The event gathered students, faculty members, and representatives of the medical community who discussed the importance of historical memory from the wartime years and the role of medicine.
The conference covered a wide range of topics related to military medical care, the valor of doctors and nurses, and the role of healthcare workers. Participants discussed the achievements of medicine during the war, the scientific discoveries of that time, and the crucial work of doctors who saved the lives of soldiers on the frontlines.
"Medicine has always played an important role in war, and the courage, honesty, and professionalism of doctors were an integral part of the overall victory. We are proud that today we can recall this memory and pass it on to our students," remarked one of the organizers of the conference in his speech.
The presentations by students and faculty highlighted that during the war, not only surgeons and therapists played a vital role, but also other specialists who worked under the challenging conditions of frontline hospitals.

At the conclusion of the conference, an awards ceremony was held to recognize the winners of the conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory, along with words of gratitude for the students and faculty members who participated in the event. As a result, student Kamila Asilkhanovna Kamanova from the group VM-SOB-05-24 and student Nurdaulet Pazilbek from the group VM-SKB-01-24/A2 won the "Best Report" nomination.
The conference became an important event to honor the heroes-medics of the Great Patriotic War and to instill in students a sense of pride for those who worked under difficult wartime conditions to fight for life.
