“The Development of Science is a Key State Priority”

A roundtable discussion titled “The Development of Science is a Key State Priority” was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. The meeting was opened by the Head of the Scientific Research Department, Seil Birzhan Seituly, who highlighted the main directions related to the field of science mentioned in President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s Address, “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Solutions through Fundamental Digital Transformation.”
During the roundtable, the Head of the Project Management and Commercialization Office, Dilyafruz Bolatova, was among the first to present a report, speaking about the scientific projects and innovations taking place at the academy. She emphasized the importance of improving the funding system for research institutes, providing competitive salaries for leading scientists, and developing universities as research-oriented institutions, as outlined in the President’s Address.
Dilyafruz Ganikyzy also noted that special attention is given to scientific research at the academy, resulting in an increased number of projects in departments, as well as expanded grant opportunities for young scientists and master’s students. She added that there have been positive results in strengthening international cooperation, implementing modern research methods, and enhancing the connection between science and practical application.

Following her, Senior Manager of the Scientific Research Department Maidan Mukhamediyarov encouraged students to bring forward new ideas and strive for international recognition. He also discussed with students ways to enhance the country’s scientific potential, support young researchers, and further integrate education with science.
