The Training Clinical Centre was opened in 2007. In December 2018, renamed the Centre of Practical Skills (CPS). The Centre of Practical Skills is the structural unit providing a safe, reliable educational environment for teaching clinical skills, providing students with the opportunity to develop, maintain and improve their clinical competence using simulation equipment.
The purpose of the CPS is the creation of organizational and teaching conditions for improving the quality of student training; retraining and advanced training, as well as for the development of professional competence of health care specialists.
The objectives of the CPS are:
• organization of practical training in the Center, contributing to the improvement of the quality of training on the basis of new organizational forms, teaching and control methods;
• ensuring consistency and continuity in the development of practical skills in higher, postgraduate and continuing professional education programs;
• assistance to departments in creating methodological support (scenarios, cases, algorithms for providing medical care) using technical means (simulators, dummies, phantoms, etc.) of the practical training process for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students;
• organization of theoretical and practical training of teaching staff of the Academy for the methodology and rules of training using simulation equipment;
• implementation of a set of educational activities (trainings, briefings, seminars) aimed at integrating innovative methods of mastering theoretical knowledge, as well as developing and strengthening practical skills.

In November 21, 2018 a representative of the company "Nash Pirogov" Vadim Gvozdkov conducted a training and familiarized teachers with the basics of preparing an interactive table for work, with its capabilities and elements of the operating system.

In October 14, 2018, a training seminar “Implementing the Standardized Patient Methodology in the SKMA Educational Process” was held for teachers of clinical departments.
In September 2018, students of the 1st course of the specialty "General Medicine" were introduced to the classrooms of the CPS.
The Centre of Practical Skills is equipped with models and simulators, as well as high-tech computerized simulator robots, allowing to fully simulate the clinical situation, as close as possible to the real one, and to work out the algorithm of actions to automatism.
Interactive anatomical table «Pirogov»
APK «Pirogov» is an interactive software that helps to create a well-structured training program in natural science for undergraduate and graduate medical specialists, including such study fields as applied anatomy, morbid anatomy, forensic medicine, surgical studies, ophthalmology, odontology, otorhinolaryngology etc. This software allows building a complete study cycle, starting from entry level anatomy studies based on visual and descriptive materials and up to the knowledge assessment and automatic test results control.
CPS is equipped with high-tech computerized robot simulators, such as “iStan”, “BabySim”, the virtual simulator “LapSim”, as well as other models and simulators that fully simulate the clinical situation as close as possible to the real one and provides the action plan realization.
The universal robot -simulator “iSTAN”
The universal robot simulator "iSTAN" - is one of the modern high-end simulators that has no analogues in the world in a number of parameters. Being a copy of a real person, it is designed to develop practical skills and clinical thinking in the therapy of emergencies in clinical picture of internal diseases, treatment of surgical pathology, intensive care, toxicology, emergency medicine.
Robot -simulator“BabySIM”
Robot simulator “BabySIM” – is a high-tech computerized model of a six-month-old baby. The robot automatically reproduces the cardio-pulmonary, metabolic, neurological and other physiological responses specific to the baby for medical manipulations and administration of medications. High realism allows reducing the gap between training and practice, providing the best transfer of knowledge and skills of treatment in neonatology, without risk to the patient.
Auscultativesimulator “K +”, “LSAT”
Cardiological version of the simulator K:
The simulator allows you to practice heart auscultation skills at realistic auscultation points on dummy using real clinical tools. The simulator simulates the jugular veins, pulse of the arteries and cardiac impulses and synchronizes them, it allows you to perform palpation and examination of the patient’s simulator.
Version of auscultation of the lungs LSAT:
The simulator allows youto practice lungs’ auscultation skills.
Dentistry
The auditorium is equipped with a mobile dental simulator and dental simulators SD-U.02, allowing to master such skills as grafting a tooth to a metal-ceramic crown, grafting a tooth to a veneer, removal of a two-layer mold from the jaw, anesthesia of the mandible, anesthesia of the lower jaw, performing periostotomy surgery, performing tooth extraction surgery, performing thorusal anesthesia, performing retraction of the grafted tooth, making temporary (provisor) crowns, fixation of the crown on the grafted tooth.

In the audiences there is a robot simulator ISTAN6 capable of simulating emergency conditions in more than 30 clinical cases. For example, anaphylactic shock, acute myocardial infarction, pneumonia or bleeding of varying severity. Allows patients to be correctly diagnosed and any stage of prescription and treatment of appropriate therapy: surgical treatment, drug therapy.

The emergency medical aid auditorium is equipped with simulators and medical equipment for mastering the skills of advanced CPR, basic CPR, conicotomy in children and adults, tracheostomy, gastric lavage, bladder catheterization, patient care, application of Heimlich technique, blood pressure measurement, tracheal intubation, spinal shield, stretcher for patient transportation.

Pediatrics
The pediatrics audiences has an American robot simulator Baby Sim with various clinical scenarios, as well as simulators for anthropometry, care of premature babies, auscultation of the lungs and heart in children, CPR in children, bladder catheterization, artificial feeding, gastric lavage in children, ECG, splinting, rectal examination, enema, nebulizer therapy, glucosometry, piklowmetry, blood group analysis.
Obstetrics
The audiences is equipped with simulators for teaching skills in normal and pathological labor and physiological observation of the newborn, observation of twin pregnancies, observation of pathological conditions of the cervix, and models of the stages of fetal and pelvic development.
Gynecology
The audiences is equipped with simulators to simulate normal and pathologic labor. Simulators for teaching the skills of observation of twin pregnancy, observation of pathological conditions of the cervix in the gynecological chair, palpation of mammary glands, insertion of the intrauterine device, swabbing of the canal, cervix, cervical canal, episiotomy and perineotomy, induced abortion, posterior dome puncture, suturing, carrying out the method of Leapolda. Models of developmental stages, mechanism of labor are covered.

Audiences simulators are available for skills in bladder catheterization, gastric lavage, enema, intramuscular and intravenous injections, blood pressure measurement, adult patient assessment, basic CPR, and ulcer care.
