In the modern world, medical and pharmaceutical education cannot exist in isolation. The development of science and the emergence of new diagnostic and treatment methods require teachers and physicians to continuously improve their skills and exchange experience with colleagues from other countries. One of the key instruments for such development is academic mobility, which allows the integration of the best global practices into both the educational process and clinical activities.
South Kazakhstan Medical Academy (SKMA) actively supports exchange programs. A vivid example of the successful implementation of this initiative is the experience of R.E. Tuleutayeva, Head of the Department of Pharmacology at the Semey Medical University, who recently completed her academic mobility program at the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacology.
The visit took place from February 2 to February 13, 2026, and was aimed at strengthening partnership relations, exchanging experience in the field of clinical pharmacology, and familiarizing with the educational process at SKMA. The program, prepared with the participation of R.E. Tuleutayeva, included several key areas, which allowed the time spent at the academy to be used as effectively as possible.

The main activities included:
1.Lectures and master classes for students and academic staff: the visiting specialist delivered a series of lectures for students and faculty members of SKMA dedicated to modern trends in clinical pharmacology. Interactive seminars demonstrating innovative approaches to the rational use of medicines attracted particular interest from the audience.

2.Clinical consultations: during the visit, R.E. Tuleutayeva visited the academy’s clinical bases (Regional Oncology Center and City Clinical Hospital No. 1), where together with the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacology she conducted lectures and consultations for physicians on drug interactions in the treatment of oncological diseases and issues of antibiotic resistance.
Within the framework of the program, an integrated seminar was conducted jointly with the Department of Cardiology and Therapy (headed by G.K. Asanova) focusing on the analysis of cardiology patients with comorbid conditions and discussing pharmacotherapy for complex categories of patients.

A master class for practicing physicians was also organized on adjusting dosing regimens in patients with chronic kidney disease, with certification provided to specialists and residents from SKMA and MKTU.
3.Scientific discussions and round tables: working meetings with the academic staff were held to discuss prospects for joint research projects and publications, as well as opportunities for exchange of students, master’s students, and residents.
