In the 2025–2026 academic year, in accordance with the educational work plan organized by the Department of Foreign Languages, a meeting was held on February 27, 2026, with students of groups VM-MQAB-03-25 and VM-MQAB-04-25.
The event was attended by theologian Turgunbay Darzhan from the Municipal State Institution “Center for the Study of Religious Issues” under the Department for Religious Affairs of Shymkent city, and Karmantai Nurzhakhsyn, inspector of the Outreach and NEET Youth Department of the Municipal State Institution “Youth Resource Center” under the Youth Policy Department of Shymkent city.
The meeting was organized to explain ethnopolitics and to raise awareness about the harmful effects of destructive religious movements.
During the event, issues such as religious illiteracy, economic and social inequality, and psychological factors were discussed. It was emphasized that accepting religion should be based “not on emotions, but on reason.” A lack of deep religious knowledge may lead young people to accept radical ideologies.
It was also noted that loneliness and social isolation can push individuals toward extremism. Factors such as unemployment and poverty make it easier for radical groups to influence individuals.
In addition, students were informed that the law предусматривает ответственность за пропаганду деструктивных течений или публичные призывы к ним (provides liability for promoting destructive movements or publicly calling for them).
