
Today, the Shymkent City Health Department, together with the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, organized an event at the academy on the topic “Modernization of the Megapolis Healthcare System.” The event provided an opportunity for medical professionals from the city’s healthcare institutions to gather, openly exchange opinions, share experiences, and jointly address pressing issues in the healthcare sector.
The session was moderated by the Head of the Department of Family Medicine, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Kauyzybay Jumaly Aripbayuly.
During the event, informative reports were presented, and each participant shared their experience and suggestions. The first speech was delivered by the Deputy Head of the Shymkent City Health Department, Bakhytzhan Abdullaev Jusipaliuly. He spoke about state initiatives and regional projects aimed at strengthening public health, highlighting new directions in the modernization of the megapolis healthcare system.
Nurlan Aukenov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Strategic Development at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, emphasized trends in the development of medical education and science, as well as the importance of strengthening the connection between universities and practical medicine.

At the seminar, Gulzhan Dosybaeva, Head of the Department of General Practice – 2, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and Chief Freelance Occupational Pathologist of the Shymkent City Health Department, spoke about the role of general practitioners. Gulmira Datkaeva, Head of the Department of General Practice and Dermatovenerology, Candidate of Medical Sciences, delivered a report on the role of higher education institutions in preparing personnel for the modernization of the megapolis healthcare system.
During the session, Marhabat Koshimbetova, Deputy Chief Physician of City Polyclinic No. 7 for Maternal and Child Health, discussed current issues in the development of healthcare in Shymkent. Akmaral Nurlan, Deputy Chief Physician for Quality of City Polyclinic No. 3, reported on the work carried out to modernize the operations of medical organizations in the city.
At the conclusion, participants exchanged views on healthcare modernization and shared their ideas. In summary, such meetings promote the exchange of experience and knowledge among professionals, facilitate the implementation of new ideas, and pave the way for modernizing the healthcare system.
