Participation in II International Olympiad "HEALTH HORIZONS"

On April 28–29, 2025, students of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, as part of the "EpiVerse" team, took part in the II International Olympiad "HEALTH HORIZONS" of the Student Scientific Society, organized by Astana Medical University, in the "Epidemiology" section.
Aigerim Kerimkhanova from group В-ҚДСҚ-01-22, Nazgul Satybaldiyeva and Dana Shamshiddinova from group В-ЖМҚБ-04-21, and Nazerke Nisan from group В-ЖМҚА-05-21 represented the «Hygiene and Epidemiology» department under the guidance of the head of the department, c.m.s., a.ass. prof. P.D. Utepov.
The Olympiad was held in two stages. The first stage consisted of a theoretical part with test assignments: 50% application, 25% comprehension, and 25% memorization. The second stage involved demonstrating practical skills in simulated scenarios. In addition, a captain’s contest was organized, in which team leaders answered questions from various sections of the subject.
The Olympiad served not only as an important platform for evaluating the knowledge and skills acquired by students but also for exchanging experience and strengthening academic cooperation between higher educational institutions.
As a result of the competition, the "EpiVerse" team achieved excellent results and was awarded a diploma and a trophy for second place.
Significant contributions to the team's preparation were made by the head of the «Hygiene and Epidemiology» department, c.m.s., a.ass.prof. P. Utepov and c.m.s., a.ass.prof. Z. Beisembayeva.
