Dental health is an important part of overall body health. The condition of the oral cavity directly affects a person’s digestive system, speech, and appearance. Therefore, dental care is important not only from an aesthetic perspective but also from a medical standpoint. To ensure strong, white, and properly aligned teeth, oral care should begin from childhood.
As part of the “Healthy University” program, students of group ВМ-СҚБ-02-23 from the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, during a practical session in the course “General Hygiene” on the topic “Prevention of Dental Caries in Children,” applied their theoretical knowledge in practice by teaching second-grade students of the “Nurtas” intellectual secondary school about oral hygiene, dental care, and proper toothbrushing techniques.
In addition, the children were informed about the impact of proper nutrition on dental health: excessive consumption of sugar and overly sweet foods can lead to tooth decay, while calcium-rich products (milk, cheese, kefir) help strengthen teeth.
Regular visits to the dentist are an important part of preventing oral diseases. It was emphasized that undergoing check-ups at least twice a year allows early detection of dental problems.
