Senior lecturer of the Department of “History of Kazakhstan and Socio-Political Disciplines,” M. Malikov, conducted an informational and educational session for first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine on the topic “Reason Defines Honor. Prevention of Violence Against Children and Bullying.”
The main goal of the event was to comprehensively explain to students the nature of violence against children and bullying, their main types (physical, psychological, and cyberbullying), as well as their negative impact on a child’s health and personal development. In addition, the session aimed to enhance the professional and social responsibility of future medical specialists, foster a culture of respect for human rights, and encourage participation in the prevention of violence in society.
During the session, the lecturer emphasized the relevance of the topic and analyzed the reasons behind the widespread nature of bullying in modern society. Factors contributing to aggression among children and adolescents were discussed, including the role of family upbringing, social environment, and the influence of the information space.
Students were provided with a detailed explanation of the psychological consequences of bullying for affected children, such as emotional exhaustion, low self-esteem, and social isolation. Using real-life examples, it was shown that such situations can later lead to psychosomatic illnesses, stress, and anxiety disorders.
At the end of the meeting, students highlighted the importance of taking an active civic stance in protecting children’s rights, preventing violence, and building a healthy social environment. Such events not only improve the legal literacy of young people but also play a significant role in their future professional practice.
