"State Sovereignty – the Beginning of Independent Kazakhstan"

On October 22, 2025 the Department of Social and Humanitarian disciplines held a special lecture for group B-FKAB-01-25 with aim of familiarizing students with the important stages in the history of independent Kazakhstan and explain the historical, political and legal significance of sovereignty dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty. The lecture was delivered by Mukhametkarim Abdukarimovich Ertayev, PhD in Sociology and Acting Professor.
During this event, the lecturer spoke in detail about the historical significance of the "Declaration of State Sovereignty," adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR on October 25, 1990. He emphasized that the Declaration was the first political and legal document in the development of Kazakhstan as an independent state.
The lecture also included a broad discussion of the fundamental principles of sovereignty, including political independence, economic independence, national security, and equality in international relations. Professor M.A.Ertayev provided feedback to the students, answered their questions and provided an opportunity to exchange views on the topic. The lecture was interactive and highly engaging.
The lecture was very useful and informative for the students. They learned about the complex historical stages of Kazakhstan's path to independence and heightened their interest in the history of our country's independence. This event played an important role in patriotic education.
