Students Met with Religious Experts

At the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, an informational and educational event was held, organized by the Shymkent City Department for Religious Affairs. The purpose of the event was to prevent religious extremism and terrorism, explain the negative impact of destructive religious movements on society, and promote religious literacy and resilience among young people.
The event was attended by PhD doctors in theology and qualified specialists in the field. In particular, Baurzhan Kuanyshbayuly Botakarayev, Senior Lecturer and PhD in Theology from Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, Medet Muzapbaruly Khalykov, Director of the “Center for the Study of Religious Issues” under the Department of Religious Affairs of Turkistan Region, and theologian of the center, Alihan Dilmuratuly Shamuatov, met with students and shared their views. During the meeting, participants discussed the current religious situation in society, signs of radical movements, and ways to prevent them. Video materials on the topic were shown. In addition, students were given concrete examples explaining the harm of destructive ideologies and the importance of distinguishing between legitimate and false religious movements, encouraging them to protect themselves from religious radicalism.
At the end of the event, Alihan Dilmuratuly Shamuatov answered students’ questions.
