The Strength of a Country is Measured by Its Intellectual Potential and Scientific Achievements

The Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences, PhD Zh.O. Nurzhanbayeva, and Senior Lecturer A.A. Myrzaziya gave an interview to the socio-political newspaper “Shymkent Kelbeti” on the topic “The Strength of a Country is Measured by Its Intellectual Potential and Scientific Achievements”, where they discussed the importance of the upcoming referendum.
During the interview, they noted that in modern society the development and competitiveness of a state primarily depend on the level of science and education. In their opinion, only a country with a high intellectual potential can achieve sustainable development. They also emphasized that a referendum is an important democratic process that allows citizens to directly participate in making decisions of national importance.
The new Constitution serves as a solid foundation for the country’s long-term development and is the main document shaping both domestic and foreign policy.
The updated version of the Basic Law defines the development of human capital, education, science, and innovation as key strategic priorities of state policy. In the context of global competition and international instability, the strength of any country is determined not so much by its natural resources as by its intellectual potential, the quality of education, and scientific achievements.
The Constitution clearly defines the boundaries between the state and religion by establishing the principle of secularism. This aims to ensure spiritual harmony, stability, and equality in our multiethnic and multiconfessional society. In addition, the document clearly reflects the importance of developing education and science, culture and innovation, protecting nature, and taking responsibility for future generations. Thus, the future of the state is linked not only to wealth but also to the formation of educated and wise citizens.
The lecturers also emphasized that the active participation of young people in socio-political life is extremely important for the country’s future. The interview also addressed issues related to the development of science, support for young researchers, and improving the quality of education.
In conclusion, the department’s lecturers called on citizens to actively participate in the referendum, noting that this is a manifestation of the civic responsibility of every compatriot.
