Today, a delegation from one of the UK’s prestigious universities — Cardiff University — visited the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.
Among the guests were Professor Stephen Riley, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Cardiff University; Dr. Paula Sanderson, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Administrative Affairs; and Samgat Yermekbayev, First Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Strategic Development at Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. Satpayev.
The delegation first became acquainted with the academy’s daily operations, educational process, and scientific-innovative achievements. The guests visited the academy’s museum, which presents the institution’s history and its achievements throughout different periods.
Following this, the delegation toured the educational buildings and laboratory facilities, witnessing the conditions created for students and the capabilities of classrooms and labs equipped with modern technology. The ongoing scientific projects, their directions, and successes particularly interested the foreign guests.
A key part of the visit was the official meeting with the Rector of SKMA, Zhanna Serikzhanqyzy, and members of the teaching staff. During the warm meeting, both sides expressed their intent to cooperate in the exchange of professional knowledge and experience, the development of academic mobility programs, and the implementation of joint scientific projects.
This meeting between Cardiff University and SKMA is expected to mark the beginning of significant collaborative projects and shared achievements in the future.
