A Forum on “Unity Through Volunteering: Partnership, Trust, Development” Was Held in Astana

Recently, the First Forum of Volunteers of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Astana. The forum, held under the theme “Unity Through Volunteering: Partnership, Trust, Development,” was opened by Aida Galymkyzy Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Minister of Culture and Information. She noted that volunteering is not only about providing assistance, but also serves as a bridge of trust and cooperation between countries. The aim of the event was to systematize the volunteer movement in the CIS countries, share best practices, and launch new projects based on common values. During the plenary, panel, and strategic sessions, participants discussed such relevant topics as “Volunteering for Equal Opportunities,” “Corporate Responsibility,” “Volunteering Without Borders,” and “The Common Future of the CIS.” It is worth noting that Askar Merey Yelamankyzy, a graduate of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, also participated in the forum as part of the delegation from the city of Shymkent. The forum became an important platform for strengthening mutual understanding and partnership among volunteers from the CIS countries. Together, we are developing society through volunteering, bridging the gaps between people, and taking steps towards a common future.
