
A master class on the preparation of infusions and decoctions from medicinal plant raw materials at home was held at the Department of Pharmaceutical Production Technology.
The event was organized by Senior Mentor, Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Production Technology G.S. Ospanova, group curator and Senior Lecturer A.O. Egentaeva, as well as 4th-year students of groups V-FOTKB-02-22 and V-FOTKA-01-22. The open curatorial session was conducted in collaboration with B.S. Baimbetova, Chief Specialist for Social Work of the Youth Policy Department. Among the academic staff present were M.M. Sapakbay, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Zh.O. Kambarova, Youth Affairs Specialist, and faculty members of the Department of Pharmaceutical Production Technology.

During the open mentoring session, students demonstrated in real time how to properly prepare infusions and decoctions from different parts of medicinal plants at home. Informative presentations were prepared about medicinal herbs growing in the southern region, as well as about the methods and timing of collecting certain plants. Information was also provided on safety precautions when collecting, storing, and using herbs. Special attention was paid to plants listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It was repeatedly emphasized that when preparing infusions and decoctions, it is necessary to carefully read and strictly follow the instructions, and to use these remedies only as prescribed by a physician.
At the end of the event, a “Question and Answer” game was held, and the winners were awarded prizes.
