
Today, a meeting dedicated to improving financial literacy was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. The Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Affairs, Erbol Salim Kaltursynuly, opened the event, explained its purpose to the students, and introduced the invited speakers.
The meeting was attended by Marat Otegenov, a representative of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of Kazakhstan; Ruslan Botabayev, a representative of JSC “Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan”; Kaby1 Sultan Abzaluly, an officer of the Shymkent City Police Department; and Asemai Zhurýn, a psychologist from the City Youth Resource Center. They shared important insights in their respective fields.
Experts provided detailed information to students about the most common types of fraud in modern society, paying special attention to the so-called “dropper” fraud scheme. Real-life examples were given, showing how people become victims by taking out loans via mobile phones. The importance of being cautious and protecting oneself from such cases was strongly emphasized.
Students were shown various videos providing comprehensive information about financial risks and fraudulent schemes in society. Psychologist Asemai Zhurýn from the Shymkent City Youth Resource Center conducted a psychological training session, highlighting the importance of seeking professional support in cases of depression.
