A Meeting on the Prevention of Drug Addiction and Alcoholism Was Held at SKMA

Today, an informational meeting was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people and preventing drug addiction and alcoholism.

The event, entitled “Prevention of the Harmful Effects of Drug Addiction and Alcoholism and Their Consequences,” was attended by Raushan Asankyzy Baimurunova, a physician at the Mental Health Center; Ayazhan Kaldybekkyzy Dzharasbai, an educator at the Center for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control under the Shymkent City Health Department; and Mukhtarhan Tulegenuly Aman, a specialist of the Outreach and NEET Youth Work Department of the “Youth Resource Center” under the Shymkent City Youth Policy Department.

During the meeting, specialists spoke to young people about the negative effects of drugs and alcoholic beverages on human health, psychological well-being, and social life. They also emphasized the importance of preventing addiction, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and avoiding harmful habits.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to ask the specialists questions they were interested in and receive clear and detailed answers.
