A Republican Olympiad Bringing Together Future Pediatricians Was Held

A Republican Olympiad in Pediatrics was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. The aim of the Olympiad was to increase students’ interest in the field of pediatrics, develop clinical thinking, improve practical skills, and identify talented future specialists. 

The Olympiad brought together 4th–5th year students and interns studying under the “Pediatrics” educational program. Each team consisted of five participants. During Stage I, the teams introduced their educational institutions and cities. Stage II included a test examination, Stage III featured the “Clinical Case Scenarios” competition, Stage IV focused on practical skills and visualization, and Stage V consisted of the интеллектуалдық game “My Game” (“Own Game”). According to the overall results, the team of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy JSC (scientific supervisor — PhD, Associate Professor K.S. Kemelbekov) was awarded the 1st Degree Diploma of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The team of Astana Medical University NJSC received the 2nd Degree Diploma, while the team of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University NJSC was awarded the 3rd Degree Diploma. In addition, by the decision of the jury, participants received special nominations including “Best Future Pediatrician,” “Best Pediatrics Star,” and “Best Test Result.”
