
А round table discussion on the topic “Partnership with Employers in Training Medical Professionals: Education, Practice, and Science” was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.
The event was attended by the Head of the Turkestan Regional Health Department, Askhan Markhabayuly Baidualiev; the Head of the Maternal and Child Health Protection Division of the Shymkent City Health Department, Inna Mikhailovna Glazebnaya; the Head of the Shymkent City Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control, Talgat Kuttybayuly Sermanizov; as well as heads of healthcare organizations in the region.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of the Academy, Zhanna Serikzhankyzy Seitjanova, who emphasized that one of the pressing issues in the medical field is the training of qualified medical personnel and the need to strengthen cooperation between educational institutions and healthcare organizations.
“We have gathered to jointly discuss ways to improve the professional competence of young specialists entering clinical practice. I hope that such events will contribute to the integration of the educational process at the academy and practical activities in clinics into a unified system,” said the Rector.

The round table was moderated by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Maria Ulasbekovna Anartaeva. During the event, several topical presentations were delivered. In particular, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Aizat Ashimkhanovna Seidakhmetova, presented a report on “Current Issues in Training Medical Specialists Adapted to Labor Market Demands.” The Dean of Internship, Kanatzhan Saukhanbekovich Kemelbekov, analyzed employment indicators of graduates.
The Acting Dean of Residency, Aiten Maira Bagystankyzy, addressed educational programs at the residency level, while the Head of the Center for Competence and Continuing Professional Education, Kulzhamila Zhumanovna Kenesova, raised issues related to the implementation of continuing education programs in the healthcare sector.
During the round table, participants discussed current challenges in medical workforce training, graduate employment indicators, residency and continuing education programs. Proposals were also made regarding the missions and learning outcomes of bachelor’s, residency, master’s, and doctoral educational programs.
At the end of the meeting, heads of medical organizations asked questions and exchanged views. Participants expressed their needs for specific specialists in their institutions and confirmed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the Academy.
As a result of the event, a resolution was adopted, and participants completed a survey.
