A Scientific perspective of future doctors: student research project presentations held in English at the Department of neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation and neurosurgery

On September 15, 2025, the Department of Neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation and neurosurgery hosted the defense of research projects by 5th-year students from the English-speaking groups ZHMSHA-09-21, ZHMSHA-10-21, ZHMSHA-11-21, and ZHMSHA-12-21.
The event featured presentations of research papers on current topics in the fields of clinical neurology and psychiatry. Students prepared and presented projects dedicated to the following conditions:
• Epilepsy
• Tourette syndrome
• Multiple sclerosis
• Dementias
Each project included scientific justification, clinical case examples, and diagnostic and treatment recommendations, demonstrating the high level of preparation of future specialists.
The defenses were overseen by the department’s academic staff, including:
• Associate Professors: Polukchi T.V., Erkebayeva S.K., Mustapaeva G.A., Abdraimova S.O.
• Assistants: Yessetova A.A., Suleimenov M.A.
Faculty members praised the quality of the projects, their scientific validity, and the students’ confident use of professional English terminology. Events like these contribute to the development of research competencies, critical thinking, and the professional growth of students.
The department will continue to actively support student scientific activities and promote academic initiatives at the international level.
