A seminar was held on the topic “Atherosclerosis Prevention”

On September 14, 2026, a seminar on “Atherosclerosis Prevention” was held at the Department of General Medical Practice – 2 of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.
The seminar was conducted by cardiologist, physician at the Heart Center, and Chief Lipidologist of Shymkent — Zaure Ikramovna Ormakhanova.
The event was organized by the Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Gulzhan Nurbekovna Dossybayeva. The seminar was attended by the department’s teaching staff and interns from groups ІЖТДҚ-26-26, ІЖТДҚ-17-26, ІЖТДҚ-26-27, and ІЖТДҚ-26-28.
During the seminar, the following aspects of atherosclerosis were discussed:
— causes and risk factors;
— clinical manifestations;
— complications;
— diagnosis;
— prevention methods.
The participants received valuable information about the importance of taking responsibility for cardiovascular health and preventing atherosclerosis.
The main objective of the event was to increase awareness of atherosclerosis, promote early identification of risk factors, and foster a responsible approach to disease prevention.
Maintaining good health begins not with treating disease, but first and foremost with preventing it!
