A Successfully Accomplished Business Trip and Outstanding International Clinical Experience!

International cooperation and exchange of experience are the foundation of modern medical education and clinical practice. In this regard, Kumisay Kuldyrakovna Atashova, Assistant of the Department of Family Medicine at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy (SKMA) and a highly qualified general practitioner, took part in an academic mobility program at the Abu Ali Ibn Sino Bukhara State Medical Institute in Bukhara, Republic of Uzbekistan, from May 11 to 15.
The professional exchange took place at the Department of Internal Diseases and Family Medicine, based at the Bukhara Multidisciplinary Central Polyclinic — one of the institute’s leading departments. The Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Associate Professor Matluba Najmiddinovna Badritdinova, an experienced specialist who has supervised four PhD doctoral students, introduced the faculty and students and provided all necessary conditions for a successful internship.

At the department’s lecture hall, K.K. Atashova delivered lectures for bachelor’s and master’s students on the topics “Organization of Emergency Outpatient Care in Acute Coronary Syndrome” and “Procedure for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.” The lectures covered the initial examination and assessment of patients suspected of having ACS at the outpatient level, as well as risk stratification according to the ESC 2023 international clinical guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology. In addition, detailed explanations were given regarding the use of the GRACE risk score scale to predict mortality and severe complications, determine patient management tactics (conservative treatment or urgent coronary angiography), assess in-hospital and six-month mortality risks, and emphasize the importance of treatment and secondary prevention. It was highlighted that competent outpatient medical care, accurate diagnostics, and every minute of timely therapy (“golden time”) play a decisive role in reducing mortality.
In addition to the lectures, K.K. Atashova closely familiarized herself with the daily operations of the institute’s multidisciplinary clinic. She visited modern CT, MRI, and radiology departments, as well as clinical and scientific laboratories, where she analyzed inpatient examination results together with local physicians. She also participated in the examination of cardiology patients, communicated with them, and discussed treatment strategies collaboratively.
A particularly noteworthy aspect was the production of natural herbal medicinal preparations at the clinic, which are actively prescribed to both outpatient and inpatient patients. This became a remarkable example of the harmonious combination of the traditional medicine of the great healer Ibn Sino with modern medical technologies. Furthermore, she became acquainted with the institute’s impressive library, fully equipped with advanced domestic and international medical literature in four languages (Uzbek, Russian, English, and Turkish), and visited the museum dedicated to the great scholar and founder of medicine, Abu Ali Ibn Sino.
This international visit, which became a golden bridge for the development of medical science and education between the two countries, concluded successfully and productively and was officially confirmed with a special certificate.
We express our sincere gratitude to the administrations of both educational institutions for their trust and support, to the staff of the Department of Internal Diseases and Family Medicine, and especially to the Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Associate Professor Matluba Najmiddinovna, for her warm hospitality, maternal care, and exceptional welcome in Bukhara.
May our knowledge and professional expertise become a source of healing for every person seeking medical help!
