A trip organized with interns to the Museum of Victims of Political Repressions dedicated to December 16 – Independence Day

One of the most sacred and significant dates in the history of Kazakhstan is Independence Day. On December 16, 1991, our country declared its independence and embarked on a path of sovereign development. This day is a special occasion to honor the memory of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives for freedom and to celebrate our status as an independent nation.
On the eve of this holiday, Assistant of the Department of Family Medicine, Narzullayeva Dianara Sabyrzhanovna, together with the mentoring group and medical interns of groups ІЖТДҚ–16-24 and ІЖТДО–31-24, organized a special trip to the Museum of Victims of Political Repressions. The purpose of the visit was to deepen the understanding of our history, appreciate the value of independence, comprehend the difficult path toward freedom, and strengthen the patriotic spirit among the youth.
Every citizen must understand that behind our peaceful life stand the sacrifices, struggles, and courage of countless individuals. In this regard, visiting the museum became not just an excursion for us, but a profound tribute to the past.
After visiting the Museum of Victims of Political Repressions, it became evident that the interns’ perception of history had changed. What many had previously known only from textbooks and literature was now seen firsthand and felt deeply. Realizing that each exhibit represents someone's true fate made the tragedy of those years even more tangible.
Each intern came to deeply appreciate the importance of honoring the names of those who became victims on the path to independence and paying tribute to their memory. Today’s peaceful life, clear sky, and freedom of thought are the dreams of our ancestors and the legacy of those who fought for future generations.
The museum’s exhibits not only reminded us of the past but also instilled a sense of responsibility for the future. After all, the future of an independent state lies in the hands of today’s youth.
The life stories and tragic destinies of the victims of political repression are an integral part of our national history. Their courage and resilience remind us that we must never tire of valuing freedom, serving our country, and preserving historical memory.
Independence is the most sacred value. We must cherish it and honor our past. This visit clearly demonstrated that truth.
