Academic integrity — the foundation of honest education

A roundtable discussion titled “Academic Integrity - The Foundation of Honest Education” was held at the Department of Medical Biophysics and Information Technologies of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy as part of its academic integrity initiative.

The aim of the event was to promote the principles of academic integrity among students, explain the importance of honesty and responsibility in the educational process, and foster a culture of academic integrity.

During the roundtable, students received detailed information about the fundamental principles of academic integrity, academic ethics, and the importance of honest learning. To deepen their understanding of the topic, educational videos were shown, followed by a survey based on the video content.

In addition, third-year students presented and defended their projects on academic integrity and shared their opinions. During their presentations, the students emphasized the importance of honest learning, taking responsibility for their own work, and complying with academic requirements.

The event was attended by Beibarys Tungyshbayev, a representative of the Youth Policy Department, and Aziza Seitzhapbarkyzy Zhakipova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Kazakh, Russian and Latin Languages.

The roundtable aimed to broaden students’ understanding of academic integrity and strengthen the values of honesty, fairness, and responsibility within the educational environment.
