Academic Integrity – the Foundation of Quality Education

On May 19, 2026, the Head of the Department of “History of Kazakhstan and Socio-Social Disciplines,” PhD holder Zh.O. Nurzhanbayeva, conducted an educational and awareness-raising session dedicated to the prevention of corruption and the observance of academic integrity principles. The event was attended by the faculty members of the department and first-year international students.
The purpose of the event was to promote the principles of academic integrity among both lecturers and students, to prevent corruption, to foster a culture of fairness and responsibility in the educational process, and to advance the values of quality education and a morally sound society.
During the discussion, Zh.O. Nurzhanbayeva emphasized the importance of academic integrity in improving the quality of education, noting that honest demonstration of one’s knowledge during learning, adherence to examination rules, and the prevention of plagiarism are essential steps in the professional development of future specialists. In addition, the harmful impact of corruption in modern society and ways to prevent it were explained in detail.
