“An Educated, Honest, And Responsible Doctor Is The Key To The Nation’s Health”

The Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences held educational sessions for undergraduate and master’s students enrolled in Medicine and Pharmacy programmes to promote and explain President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s 2026 Address to the People of Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the event was to explain the objectives outlined in President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s 2026 Address concerning healthcare and education, as well as to foster professional responsibility, medical ethics, academic integrity, patriotism and moral values among undergraduate and master’s students.
The Address identified public health protection, the modernisation of medical infrastructure and the training of qualified doctors as key priorities. The country plans to build perinatal centres, children’s hospitals, emergency medical stations and rehabilitation centres. In addition, a 40 per cent increase in doctors’ salaries will further strengthen the status and importance of medical professionals in society.
For undergraduate and master’s students of medical universities, these objectives require a thorough acquisition of professional knowledge, the improvement of clinical skills and the effective use of modern technologies. One of the key messages of this year’s Address is that a future doctor should not only be a knowledgeable specialist but also a responsible citizen who treats patients with compassion and upholds medical ethics, academic integrity and the principle of “Law and Order”.
In this year’s Address, the President emphasised the need to give special attention to fostering patriotism, honest work, respect for human life, compassion and continuous professional development among undergraduate and master’s medical students.
The professional knowledge and moral education of undergraduate and master’s students enrolled in medical programmes form the foundation of a healthy nation. A knowledgeable, well-educated and responsible medical professional is a key pillar in improving public health and building a bright future for Kazakhstan.
