On November 19, 2025, the Psychological Service together with the Department of Foreign Languages organized a cognitive-psychological event titled “Preventing Gambling Addiction: A Step Toward a Conscious Life” for the groups.
Today, among young people, the tendency toward gambling and the development of addiction has become one of the pressing issues in society. Gambling addiction (ludomania) is a dangerous disorder in which a person becomes psychologically dependent on gambling, distancing themselves from real life and losing time, money, and social connections.
The main purpose of the event was to enhance students’ psychological awareness, explain the psychological and social consequences of gambling, and present ways to prevent addiction.
During the event, participants were informed about the signs of gambling addiction, its causes, and its psychological effects. Specially prepared video materials and informational booklets were used to thoroughly discuss the impact of gambling on human psychology. Students were also provided with practical advice on building a conscious lifestyle, managing emotions and using time effectively.
Based on the results of the “TAKER” test, specialists of the Psychological Service provided group psychological counseling and offered recommendations for addiction prevention.
At the end of the event, students shared their thoughts and emphasized the importance of preventing gambling addiction and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
