An Event on the Prevention of Religious Extremism Was Held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy

An event entitled “Prevention of Religious Extremism” was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy with the aim of preventing religious extremism among young people, increasing religious literacy, and promoting social stability. The event was attended by Samat Ualikhan, a theologian from the Municipal State Institution “Center for the Study of Religious Issues” under the Department for Religious Affairs of Shymkent. He conducted an awareness-raising session for residency students, explaining the nature of religious extremism and its negative impact on society. Samat Shokanovich spoke about the causes of religious extremism and radical ideologies, as well as the ways in which they can influence the minds of young people. He also encouraged students to critically evaluate religious information encountered on social media and the Internet, and to verify the source and reliability of any information before accepting or sharing it. At the end of the event, the students asked questions of interest to them and received relevant answers from the theologian.
