
An extraordinary seminar was held at the Department of Public Health and Public Health with the participation of 1st-year doctoral students of the Public Health educational program.
During the seminar, a joint seminar was held with Yelzhan Birtanov, Professor of the Department, project manager of the SKMA University Clinic, and Associate Professor Sarsenbayeva Gulzat Zhanabayeva. The event was dedicated to discussing two topical topics:
1. «Medical insurance: the experience of Kazakhstan and international models»
2. «Digitalization of healthcare: the transition from projects to a sustainable system»
During the seminar, we discussed in detail the specifics of the development of the medical insurance system of the Republic of Kazakhstan and considered the stages of the specifics of ideal social health insurance.
Special attention was paid to the financing of medical services, the role of the state and the private sector in ensuring the availability and quality of medical care.
Professor of the department Birtanov E. A. also conducted an analytical review of healthcare digitalization processes. He stressed the importance of moving from individual digital projects to creating a sustainable and integrated digital healthcare ecosystem. The directions of e-health development, the introduction of artificial intelligence, as well as issues of protecting patients' personal data are considered.
Associate Professor Gulzat Sarsenbayeva noted the importance of these areas for the development of Public Health science and stressed the need for doctoral students to actively participate in research projects related to digital technologies and improving the health insurance system.
The doctoral students took an active part in the discussion and asked a number of questions related to the prospects of using digital technologies in public health and integrating international experience into the national system.
The seminar contributed to the expansion of the scientific horizons of doctoral students, the formation of a systematic understanding of current trends in the field of health insurance and digitalization of healthcare, as well as the strengthening of research competencies.
