
At the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, an intellectual game titled “The Role of Tradition and Culture in Modern Society” was organized in honor of the “March 16 – Culture and Traditions Day” celebration.
Students from 8 higher education institutions in the city participated in the event (A. Kuatbekov Peoples’ Friendship University, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University, U. Zhanibekov South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University, M. Saparbayev University, Zh. Tashenov South Kazakhstan University, South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, Miras University, and OAIU).

The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Social Affairs, Salim Yerbol Kaltursynuly, who congratulated the attendees on the occasion.
“Dear guests! As you know, at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Nauryz holiday is celebrated for 10 days in our country. Within the framework of this celebration, various events are held daily at our institution. One of them is an intellectual game for students. We express our gratitude to the students of our city’s universities participating in the competition, as well as to our guests,” he said.
The jury panel included the head of the Youth Resource Center, Zhuman Zhanserik Bauyrzhanuly, the head of the Student Registration Department, Chapay Nurshat Kazybekuly, and the Kazakh language teacher of the Language Teaching and Methodological Center, Ospanova Aisulu Toishibekkyzy.
The competition consisted of several stages. In the first stage, teams introduced themselves; in the second stage, participants recited poems related to culture and traditions. This was followed by the “Doda” Q&A round, where students answered various questions about national traditions and culture. In the final stage, participants showcased their creativity, acting skills, and talents.
As a result, the team from Zh. Tashenov University won first place, the team from M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University took second place, and the team from South Kazakhstan Medical Academy secured third place.
All participating teams were awarded certificates of appreciation.
