Award Ceremony of the “Student Shield” Video Contest Held

The South Kazakhstan Medical Academy hosted the award ceremony of the “Student Shield” video contest. The aim of the contest was to raise public awareness about the dangers of terrorism and religious extremism, promote preventive measures, and emphasize the importance of national values in maintaining peace and stability in society.

At the event, Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Affairs Salim Yerbol Kaltursunuly delivered a speech on the nature of extremism and terrorism, highlighting their negative impact on public peace, national unity, and youth upbringing.
It should be noted that among the submitted videos, flashmob recordings, and essays, only those meeting the requirements were selected for the qualifying stage. Based on the commission’s decision, winners in various categories were awarded.
In the “Best Video” nomination, Yerbol Kaltursunuly awarded a First Degree Diploma to group ZMQB 02-21 of the Department of Phthisiopulmonology and Radiology, a Second Degree Diploma to the Department of Pediatrics-2, and a Third Degree Diploma to Kazmed Youth and Kadir Berivan.
Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social-Humanitarian Disciplines, Zhanat Nurzhanbayeva, awarded the “Best Essay” nomination. The First Degree Diploma went to student Omirali Beibarys (group VKDQ 01-25), the Second Degree Diplomas to student Alua Mansurova (group MMQ 02-25) and student B. Niyazbekov (group VM MOB 12-25). Third Degree Diplomas were awarded to student A. Akmambetova (group VM PQB 01-25), student R. Sabirzhanova (group VM MOA 12-25), and N. Egizbek.

Head of the Youth Policy Department Berik Taszhanov presented diplomas to the winners in the “Best Flashmob” nomination. The First Degree Diploma was awarded to the “Qyran” organization of the Medical College, and the Second Degree Diploma to the creative association “Shabyt.”
Winners received cash prizes, commemorative gifts, letters of appreciation, and diplomas.

Let us not forget: combating terrorism and extremism is a shared responsibility of the entire society!
