Choosing a profession is choosing your destiny

As stated in the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education,” the main objective of the education system is to create the necessary conditions for obtaining an education aimed at the formation, development, and professional improvement of the individual based on scientific and practical achievements, as well as the training of qualified specialists capable of competing in the labor market.
At the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Acting Associate Professor Z. I. Beisembayeva, within the framework of the subject “Introduction to the Profession,” introduced first-year students of the specialty Medical and Preventive Work (group ВМ-МПДҚАБ-01-25) to the work of the Turan District Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control in order to familiarize them with their future professions.
The students visited the departments of Communal Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Hygiene of Children and Adolescents of the sanitary-hygienic division, as well as the Epidemiology Department, where they learned about the interesting and challenging work of specialists and the duties of public servants. The experience was very engaging and informative. In addition, to familiarize them with the work of a hospital epidemiologist, S. Aidarova, Head of the Infection Control Department of the City Perinatal Center, introduced the students to the main directions and tasks of an epidemiologist working in a perinatal center. The students received answers to their questions and learned about the nuances of their future professions.
The students were deeply impressed by visiting their future workplaces and were pleased to realize that they had made the right choice in their future profession.
