Current Perspectives on Religion, Society and Security

On May 6, 2026, a meeting was held between students and a specialist from the KSU “Center for the Study of Religious Issues” of the Department of Religious Affairs of Shymkent, Amankeldi Nurdaulat. The topic of the meeting was: “Clarification of citizens’ right to freedom of religion, ensuring national security, including the prevention of terrorism, racial and religious extremism.”
The event aimed to increase religious literacy, promote a tolerant worldview, and prevent radical ideas.
During the meeting, the specialist explained the importance of traditional spiritual values, the need for critical thinking when processing information, and the significance of maintaining interfaith harmony in society. Special attention was given to religious security and the role of youth in countering destructive ideologies.
Students actively participated in the discussion, asking questions related to religion, the influence of social media, and information security. Explanations were provided along with practical examples.
The meeting was held in an open dialogue format and generated strong interest among participants, contributing to the expansion of knowledge and the formation of stable life orientations.
