
Today, at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, an event dedicated to Independence Day — December 16 — was held, organized by the Department of Kazakh, Russian, and Latin Languages.
The event began with a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the December Uprising, followed by a staged performance portraying the bravery of thousands of young people who took to the square. The struggle of the courageous youth, who chanted “Let the Kazakh nation choose its own leader!” on the path toward independence, left a profound impression on the audience.
The cultural part of the event was enriched by talented students of the department, who beautifully performed the kui “Balbyrauyn,” immersing the audience in the enchanting world of national music. The girls from the “Körkem” dance group also contributed by showcasing the elegance of Kazakh dance, adding charm to the stage

During the gathering, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Social Affairs Sälim Yerbol Qaltursynuly, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Arystanbayev Quttybek Esengelduly, and Deputy Dean for the “General Medicine” educational program Duysenbayeva Meruert Meirambekqyzy delivered speeches. They emphasized the historical significance of Independence Day, the responsibility of today’s generation, and confidence in the country’s future.
At the end of the event, academy students Yerlan Äbdibek and Nurgül Qoshqarbai performed the song “Qazaqstanym,” giving the audience a strong patriotic spirit.
