
At the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, a conference titled “Loyalty to the Pharmacy Profession” and the International Student Olympiad in the “Pharmacy” educational program were held in honor of the 70th birthday of Bayan Akhmetkyzy Sagyndykova, academician of the Asian Academy of Sciences, academician of the Azerbaijan section of the International Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Professor. Today, the ceremonial part of the event took place. The founder of JSC “SKMA”, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Serikzhan Seitzhanov, congratulated Professor Bayan Akhmetkyzy on her anniversary and highlighted her significant contribution to the development of pharmaceutical science in the country.

The rector of the institution, Zhanna Seitzhanova, expressed her deep respect for the professor’s many years of scientific and pedagogical work and her leading role in the development of pharmaceutical education. The event continued with a speech by the Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Social Affairs, Salim Erbol Kaltursynuly, who noted that Bayan Akhmetkyzy is the author of over 300 scientific and methodological works, has published 10 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, and holds more than 20 patents. Under her supervision, 6 candidate and 2 PhD dissertations have been defended, 2 more are in preparation, and over 25 master’s research works have been successfully defended.
Colleagues and students from various regions of the country and abroad who came to congratulate Bayan Sagyndykova also expressed their warm wishes.
During the event, the results of the International Student Olympiad in the “Pharmacy” educational program were announced. The first-place winners were three teams: “PHARM VISION” from S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, “STERN.KG” from I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, and “Remedium” from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research.
Second place was awarded to three teams: “PharmTeam” from South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, “Vita-Pharm” from Karaganda Medical University, and “Pharma Girls” from Astana Medical University.
Third place went to the teams “LabRangers” and “Placebo” from Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, and “Nobilis Pharma” from West Kazakhstan Medical University named after Marat Ospanov.
The special prize named after Professor Bayan Akhmetkyzy Sagyndykova was awarded to the “STERN.KG” team from Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev, the “PharmTeam” from South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, and the “LabRangers” team from Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute.
