“Effectiveness and relevance of using artificial intelligence tools in teaching biology and chemistry”

On March 26, 2026, an inter-university roundtable was held on the topic “Effectiveness and relevance of using artificial intelligence tools in teaching biology and chemistry.” The event was attended by lecturers and specialists from various universities, where ways to effectively utilize artificial intelligence in the educational process were discussed. The aim of the roundtable was to discuss the effectiveness and relevance of applying artificial intelligence tools in teaching biology and chemistry, to identify the possibilities and limitations of their integration into the educational process, to develop practical recommendations, and to formulate a strategy for integrating artificial intelligence into the academic process of JSC “South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.” The event was opened by the Head of the Department of “Chemical Disciplines, Biology, and Biochemistry,” Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Acting Professor Daurenbekov Kanat Narbekovich. In his speech, he emphasized the growing importance of artificial intelligence tools in teaching biology and chemistry and highlighted the relevance of holding this roundtable. Then the moderator, lecturer Orynbeck Azhar Ganiyevna, explained the structure and regulations of the event. During the opening, two video clips were shown: the first explained the concept of artificial intelligence, and the second featured a video prepared using AI. The speakers presented the capabilities of artificial intelligence tools in improving the quality of education through interactive modeling, visualization of biological and chemical processes, and personalized learning, demonstrating practical examples. Participants actively shared their opinions, suggestions, and experiences. Each presentation sparked interesting discussions and facilitated the exchange of ideas. This meeting provided an excellent opportunity to gain new knowledge and share experiences. The event was attended by Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Shitybaev Serikbek Altynbekovich from Uzbekali Zhanibekov South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Ermakhanov Myrzabek Nysanbekovich from Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University, Arystanbayev Kuttybek Esengeldievich, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Acting Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Toksanbayeva Zh.S., Chairperson of the “Pharmacy” Educational Program of JSC, Acting Professor of the Department of Pharmacognosy, Torlanova Botagoz Ongarovna, Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Acting Professor, Chairperson of the “Pharmaceutical Production Technology” Educational Program of JSC, as well as faculty members, young specialists, and department staff. This meeting provided an excellent opportunity to gain new knowledge and exchange experiences. The organizers suggested holding such events on a regular basis.
