Experience Exchange between South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University

From February 13 to 26, 2026, within the framework of the academic mobility program, faculty members of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy JSC visited the Kazakhstan–Russian Medical University. The visit was organized at the Department of Public Health and aimed at strengthening inter-university partnership as well as exchanging advanced pedagogical and scientific experience in the training of medical professionals.
The educational program covered a wide range of disciplines for students at different academic levels. Senior Lecturer Kurbanova K.T. delivered lectures, practical classes, and supervised independent student work for students enrolled in the Public Health, General Medicine, and Preventive Medicine programs. The course addressed key topics including introduction to the profession, fundamentals of research methodology, biostatistics, and principles of primary health care delivery.
For first- and second-year master’s students enrolled in the Public Health educational program, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Sadibekova Zh.U. delivered a series of lectures. The program included an in-depth study of applied statistics, health economics and management, as well as research planning and methodology. Particular attention was paid to quality management in healthcare, a critical component of modern health systems.
Modern educational technologies were actively applied throughout the teaching process, including interactive lectures, case-based discussions, and small group work. Special emphasis was placed on developing students’ analytical thinking and practical skills in applying evidence-based medicine principles and statistical data analysis.
The implementation of this academic mobility program marked an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two universities and contributed to the professional development of faculty members, as well as to enhancing the quality of medical and public health education in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
