On February 13, 2026, a round table entitled “Fight Against Corruption” was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. Senior lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages, A. Dumchebayeva and D. Baimurzayeva, as well as international students, took part in the event.
Explanatory work was carried out on the concept of corruption, which is the illegal use of official authority by an official for personal gain (taking or giving bribes, abuse of office, and so on). It was explained that the main goals of combating corruption are to ensure the rule of law, maintain justice and equality, increase public trust in the state, and create conditions for sustainable economic development.
The fight against corruption should not be limited to punitive measures alone. The most important aspect is prevention. To achieve this, it is necessary to cultivate values such as honesty, fairness, and responsibility in society. Increasing legal awareness in educational institutions and fostering integrity among young people also play a significant role.
In conclusion, combating corruption is a shared responsibility not only of the state but of every citizen. If everyone complies with the law and works honestly, trust and justice will prevail in society.
