“Freedom on the Internet and Restrictions Established by Law”

On September 15, 2026, the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences organized a round table on the topic “Freedom on the Internet and Restrictions Established by Law.”
The event was aimed at enhancing students’ legal literacy, fostering a culture of safe behavior in the digital environment, and explaining the constitutional rights and responsibilities of citizens.
Representatives of the Department of Transport Police, faculty members of the department, and students took part in the round table. Among the invited guests were Tоylybai Sundetkhan Bakytzhanuly, operational officer of the Department for Combating Drug-Related Crime of the Line Police Department at Shymkent Station, and Major of Police Sharipa Syzdykova, inspector of the Patrol Police Platoon of the Transport Police Department at Shymkent Station.
During the meeting, participants discussed current issues related to legal responsibility in the Internet environment, the spread of false information, cyberbullying, protection of personal data, communication culture on social media, and digital safety.
At the end of the event, students asked the invited specialists questions of interest and received practical recommendations on the safe and responsible use of digital resources.
The round table served as an important platform for open dialogue and exchange of views. It contributed to enhancing students’ legal culture, developing civic responsibility, and fostering a conscious attitude toward their rights and responsibilities in the digital environment.
