“From a Scientific School to Modern Clinical Neurology”

The South Kazakhstan Medical Academy hosted the Regional Scientific and Practical Conference “From a Scientific School to Modern Clinical Neurology,” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Professor Gulsym Abdrakhmanovna Dushchanova.

Gulsym Abdrakhmanovna is an outstanding educator, qualified physician, scientist, and mentor who stood at the origins of the neurological school in our region. Throughout her long professional career, she has made a significant contribution to the education and professional development of several generations of physicians. Under her leadership, new departments were established at medical educational institutions in the region, and medical professional communities were developed.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, Rector of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy Zhanna Seitzhanova delivered welcoming remarks and expressed her sincere wishes to the guest of honor.

During the ceremony, congratulatory remarks were delivered by Namazbay Zhapparovich Ormanov, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Professor of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy; Bayan Akhmetovna Sagyndykova, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Professor of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy; Zhanar Amangeldievna Zhagiparova, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Medical Education at Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University; and Alma Abdikarimovna Akhmetova, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Head of Administration of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. They conveyed their warm congratulations and best wishes to the guest of honor.

During the conference, a video dedicated to the life and professional career of Professor Gulsym Abdrakhmanovna Dushchanova was presented, highlighting her many years of dedicated work in medicine and her distinguished professional path. The event was moderated by Bekaydar Kaldybaevich Nurmashev, Vice-Rector of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy for Clinical Affairs.

During the event, faculty members and young researchers from the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University presented scientific reports in the fields of neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and neurosurgery. The speakers included:

* Nazira Zharkynbekova, Professor of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and Head of the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation Medicine and Neurosurgery;
* Gauhar Abassova, Associate Professor of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University and Head of the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry and Narcology;
* Gulfariza Tuksanbayeva, Professor of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy;
* Makira Tubanova, Associate Professor of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University;
* Saltanat Yerkebayeva and Gulnar Mustapayeva, Associate Professors of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy;
* Gulmira Dikhanbayeva, Associate Professor of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University;
* Otari Okroadze, Murat Suleimenov, Ainur Yessetova, and Elmira Amanova, Assistant Lecturers of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.

The conference was organized by the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation Medicine and Neurosurgery of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry and Narcology of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.
