At the initiative of the Department of Family Medicine of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, medical interns delivered a lecture at Shymkent City Polyclinic No. 1 on the importance of immunoprophylaxis in disease prevention. The event was attended by medical interns from groups ІТО-14-26 and ІТҚ-09-26, as well as the academic staff of the Department of Family Medicine.
During the lecture, A.A. Yessenbayeva and M.K. Sarmanova discussed the importance of vaccination and the need to administer vaccines in stages according to patients’ age and the National Immunization Schedule. In addition, N.L. Khabibullayev presented an animated video addressing common public concerns and misconceptions about vaccination, the potential risks of vaccine refusal, and effective communication with people who hold anti-vaccination views. The video demonstrated the importance of communicating appropriately with patients, providing evidence-based answers to their questions, and offering reliable information about vaccination.
The main purpose of the event was to improve future doctors’ knowledge of immunoprophylaxis, raise public awareness of the importance of vaccination, and develop effective patient education and communication skills.
Immunoprophylaxis is one of the most important measures for preventing infectious diseases and protecting public health. Therefore, healthcare professionals are responsible for providing the public with reliable, scientifically grounded information about vaccination and explaining the importance of disease-prevention measures.
