III International Forum of Young Scientists and Students

Today, the official opening of the III International Forum of Young Scientists and Students took place at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. The large-scale scientific event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Strategic Development, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor Nurlan Aukenov, who emphasized the relevance and importance of the forum in the fields of science and education and wished all participants success.

After the official opening, the forum continued with a plenary session. The first report was delivered by Ildar Fakhradiev, Vice-Rector for Research of the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.

The forum featured insightful presentations on the following topics:
• Vyacheslav Ogay, Chief Researcher at National Center for Biotechnology LLP: “3D Cell Models: A New Platform for Personalized Medicine”;
• Seitjan Sypabekov, CEO of Galamat Group: “MedTech and iHealth in Kazakhstan: Opportunities and Prospects”;
• Kerim Mutig, Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Sechenov University, expert in nephrology: “Modern Approaches to Nephroprotection”.

In addition, the plenary session included presentations by:
 • Elena Morozova, Head of the Production Department and Manager for Contract Manufacturing: “The Role of GMP in Ensuring Drug Safety”;
  • Samat Bayakhmetov, Assistant at the Laboratory of the School of Science and Technology, Nazarbayev University: “Synthetic Biology in the Modernization of Medicine and Pharmacy”.

International participants also took an active part in the event. In particular, Dr. Gurupadayya, Professor at the JSS College of Pharmacy (Mysore, India), shared his professional experience. Kairat Yerkinbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the “Bolashak” International Programs Center JSC, also gave a presentation.
