Implementation of the MedClub Volunteer Project

Since February 2026, students of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy M.A. Yegamberdiyeva (ВМ-МОА-08-22) and Khan Tehreem (ВМ-МША-12-23), under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, PhD, Associate Professor D.M. Kulmirzayeva, have been conducting free weekly classes of the MedClub medical club as volunteers of American Corner Shymkent. The meetings are held every Sunday in Russian and English for school students, college students, and residents of Shymkent city.

The main goal of MedClub is to develop interest in the medical profession, improve medical literacy among young people, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
MedClub sessions include lecture and practical components on human anatomy and physiology, disease prevention, first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), surgical suturing workshops, and other topics depending on participants’ interests.
Participants show high engagement, actively take part in discussions, and positively evaluate the format of the sessions.
The MedClub project is an important social and educational initiative that strengthens the connection between medical education and young people, while also developing professional and communication skills as well as practical experience for student volunteers.
