“Independence — Past and Present!”

In honor of Independence Day on December 16, on December 25, 2025, an event titled “Independence — Past and Present!” was held under the guidance of S. U. Eskerova, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, and organized by the mentoring groups ВM-MҚА-08, B-08-23, and ВM-MПІ-01-23. The event was attended by faculty members of the department as well as students of the groups ВM-ЖMOAB-08-21, ВM-ЖMOAB-21, ВM-MҚқAB-24, and ВM-MҚ-09-23.The purpose of the event was to foster patriotism and love for the Motherland among young people and to cultivate a respectful attitude toward history. 

During the event, Kozhakhmetov Azat delivered a presentation on “Independence — Past and Present,” while Makulbek Aiaru spoke on “Independence as a Historical Opportunity Given to Youth.”
In addition, students presented a theatrical performance titled “From the Kazakh Khanate to Independence,” highlighting the invaluable significance of Independence for the Kazakh people. The video “The Cold of Zheltoksan” depicted how on December 16, 1986, Kazakh youth took to the square to oppose the authorities in their struggle for independence, and how their protest was brutally suppressed.

Abdirakhmanova Botagoz, Sharifbayeva Dilnoza, and Baratov Javakhir recited poems by M. Shakhanov about independence, while Rakhmetulla Lyazzat performed a monologue. The students also sang the songs “Желтоқсан желі” and “Атамекен”

In conclusion, the event strengthened students’ confidence in the enduring and creative power of Kazakhstan’s independence and inspired them to move forward into the future with determination.
