Information Session with Students on the Transition to the Integrated Medical Education Model

As part of the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine, under the leadership of Dean A. A. Seidakhmetova, held an information session with first- to fifth-year students.
Students enrolled in the Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, and Medical and Preventive Care educational programs participated in the session. The purpose of the event was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the changes in the educational process and the conditions for transitioning to the integrated medical education model.
During the session, the main issues related to students' transition to programs based on the integrated medical education model were discussed, along with the specific features of organizing the educational process. Particular attention was given to the requirements of the Academic Policy of JSC South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and compliance with them throughout the period of study.
Students enrolled in the Public Health and Medical and Preventive Care educational programs were informed about the amendments introduced to the State Compulsory Educational Standard.
Students received a detailed explanation of the iGPA calculation procedure and the significance of this indicator for progression from one year of study to the next. The discussion clarified the relationship between students' current academic performance and the conditions governing their continued studies.
The final part of the session was devoted to students' questions. Each question received a detailed response, helping students gain a fuller understanding of the changes and requirements discussed.
